Basilicata
La Basilicata è incastonata fra le terre della Calabria e della Puglia, nella parte meridionale dell’Italia. Qui non si giunge per caso. Si sceglie questa terra solo se si ha voglia di vivere un’esperienza diversa, immergendosi in luoghi dove silenzio, colori, profumi e sapori portano lontano dal frastuono e dallo stress della vita moderna, regalando sensazioni uniche.
I boschi e le foreste che ricoprono le montagne sono costellati da piccoli e suggestivi borghi, alcuni posti anche a 1000 m di altitudine, dove l’aria pura, i sapori genuini, le bellezze della natura si uniscono alle testimonianze storiche per soddisfare ogni desiderio di conoscenza.
Bellissima, e tuttavia ancora poco esplorata, è la zona dei Laghi di Monticchio, una delle aree più spettacolari della Basilicata. Il lago Grande e il lago Piccolo, sono due splendidi specchi d’acqua che occupano i due crateri, ormai spenti, del Monte Vulture e sono circondati da una fitta e lussureggiante vegetazione.
Pur essendo una regione prevalentemente interna, la Basilicata è bagnata da due mari: lo Ionio e il Tirreno. La costa ionica, con le due note località di Metaponto e Policoro, offre ampie spiagge di sabbia finissima o di ciottoli, in alcuni tratti circondate da pinete e filari di eucalipto che diffondono nell'aria un gradevole profumo. Il Golfo di Policastro, sul versante tirrenico, presenta una costa più alta e frastagliata, dove promontori a picco sul mare si intervallano con piccole spiagge lambite da un mare cristallino.
Le province sono: Potenza (capoluogo) e Matera.
Basilicata is embedded between Calabria and Apulia , in the south of Italy. One does not stumble across this region accidentally but chooses to visit it if in search of a new experience, plunging into places where silence, colours, scents and flavours remove the visitor from the frenzy and stress of modern life, offering unique sensations.
The woods and forests that cover the mountains are dotted with small and charming villages, some even at an altitude of 1000 mt, where pure air, genuine flavours and the beauties of nature are combined with historical vestiges satisfying any wish.
Beautiful, yet not very explored, is the area of the Monticchio Lakes, one of the most spectacular locations in Basilicata. Lake Grande and Lake Piccolo, are two splendid stretches of water that fill the two craters of Mount Vulture, now extinct, and are surrounded by thick and lush vegetation.
Even though it is a mainly internal region, Basilicata is on two seas: the Ionian and Tyrrhenian Sea. The Ionic coast, with the two famous sea resorts of Metaponto and Policoro, offers wide beaches, either sandy or pebbly, partially surrounded by pinewoods and rows of eucalyptus that give off a lovely scent.
The Gulf of Policastro, on the Tyrrhenian side, has higher and more indented coasts, where steep promontories alternate with small beaches, washed by a crystal-clear sea.
The provinces of the region are Potenza (regional capital) and Matera
Die Basilikata liegt zwischen Kalabrien und Apulien im südlichen Teil von Italien.
Hierher kommt man nicht zufällig. Für diese Region entscheidet man sich nur, wenn man Lust hat auf eine ganz andere Erfahrung, bei der man Orte kennen lernt, deren Stille, Farben, Düfte und Aromen die Hektik des modernen Alltagslebens vergessen lassen und einem einzigartige Eindrücke schenken.
Die bewaldeten Berge sind übersät von kleinen eindrucksvollen Dörfern, die teils auf über 1000 m Höhe liegen. Reine Luft, schlichte Aromen und Naturschönheiten vereinen sich hier mit geschichtlichen Zeugnissen, die jeden Wissensdrang befriedigen.
Wunderschön ist die noch weitgehend unerschlossene Gegend der Seen von Monticchio, eins der eindrucksvollsten Gebiete der Basilikata. Der Lago Grande und der Lago Piccolo sind zwei wunderschöne, von üppiger Vegetation umgebene Kraterseen des Monte Vulture.
Obwohl die Basilikata im Wesentlichen eine Binnenregion ist, wird sie von zwei Meeren umspült, dem ionischen und dem tyrrhenischen Meer. Die ionische Küste mit den zwei bekannten Orten Metaponto und Policoro lockt mit ihren feinen weiten Sand- und Kiesstränden, die teilweise von Pinien- und duftenden Eukalyptushainen gesäumt werden. Der Golf von Policastro auf der tyrrhenischen Seite bietet eine hohe, zerklüftete Küste, an der sich steil aufragende Klippen mit kleinen Badebuchten mit kristallklarem Wasser abwechseln.
